2474 Tonnes of turmeric sent to Bangladesh
Indian Railways has been convincing the turmeric suppliers in Nizamabad for exporting their much demanded produce to Bangladesh via the railroad.
The process of exporting turmeric to Bangladesh is usually carried out using Road Transport including Trucks which is a lengthy, time consuming and an expensive process.
The farmers were convinced by the The Commercial Department of Hyderabad, South Central Railway to transport their produce through trains and already, 2474 Metric Tonnes is on its way to Benapole, Bangladesh.
Reportedly, more customers are showing keenness in transporting their agricultural produce through trains instead of trucks for the apparent reason of reduced expenditure, convenience and safety.
